Tim Howard, #14, goalkeeper for Everton in the U.K., was so excited to read his copy of Hitting Glory that he forgot to take off his goalie gloves! Tim enjoys making diving saves to help his team win - and reading to help his mind and spirit grow. Tim also plays on the United States National team.

Unlike Sebastian, in my book Elves Can’t Tackle, Nick Greisen, #54, linebacker, Jacksonville Jaguars, can tackle! Nick loves Elves Can’t Tackle, but the 245-pound linebacker is also an excellent basketball player and enjoys a good basketball adventure too. Chris Hammond, #39, former pitcher, New York Yankees, holds his family's copy of Hitting Glory. Even though Chris is a pitcher, he appreciates a good baseball bat adventure!

Clint Mathis, NY Red Bulls, Forward

Clint Mathis, #13, New York Red Bulls, can't dunk, but he can sure score goals! Let's hope the MLS All Star doesn't start dribbling with his hands after reading about basketball-playing elves in his copy of Elves Can't Dunk.

 

 

 

Bob McGrath, Sesame Street

OK. So he is not a professional athlete, but Bob McGrath from Sesame Street can sure knock the song "A postman is a person in your neighborhood" out of the park. And he is a "homerun" with kids everywhere. He made my daughter's day when he told her he'd say hi to Big Bird for her. Bob is #1!
